Journey 1:

What would you LOVE to do?
Picture
If you had a whole day to yourself,
and you decided to live from your heart-space for that day,
what could/would you do?

Picture
Picture
Enjoy the sights and sounds of the farmers market.
You never know what you'll find at a farmer's market.

Picture
Knit, crochet, sketch, make a painting.

Picture
Learn to play the guitar, or maybe go buy a guitar.
(You can learn how to do anything on YouTube.)

Picture
Picture
Bake some love into halfmoon cookies, lasagna, or gluten-free bread.

Picture
Read a book or magazine under a tree.

Picture
Spend the whole day outdoors all by yourself.
Eat all of your meals outside, preferably without shoes or a cell phone.

Picture
Stare at the moon.
(If you do, tell her I said, “Hi!”)
P.S. Contrary to popular belief, the moon is female…Mother Moon,
which is kind of comforting.

Picture
Play:
Play with Play-Doh, roll down a hill, go sledding or ice skating.

Picture
Walk a labyrinth.
If you’re lucky enough to have a labyrinth in your area, walk it.
There’s no right or wrong way to walk a labyrinth.
Because the labyrinth route is predetermined both in and out, there’s nothing really to think about.
This makes it easier to relax your mind and
“go inward.”

Picture
Make some art.
Buy some white construction paper (or art paper) and some crayons.
Make a rainbow or a large heart.
(Use as many colors as you wish; there’s no wrong way to do this.)
Then write these words on your artwork: I love you!
Sign, date and frame your masterpiece.
Hang it in a prominent spot in your home.
Let it remind you to love and be kind to yourself;
let it tell everyone who sees it that you love them.
(Note: It’s easier to work with colored markers or colored pencils than crayons.)

Make an art journal.
(Check out my ABOUT ME page on this website for an example.)
Note: Sometimes it’s difficult to glue things onto handmade paper,
so you may want a journal with regular paper.

Step 1:
Buy an unlined journal.
(Barnes & Noble has a nice selection, but any unlined book will work.)

Step 2:
From magazines, cut out pictures and words that speak to you (pun intended).
Use Elmer’s Glue-All to glue them into place.
Note 1: It helps to place a sheet of wax paper under each page that you glue.
Let glue dry before closing the book.

Note 2: If you want a nice flat page, glue each picture to a page,
then place wax paper under and on top of that page.

Step 3:
Close your book and place heavy books on top of your art journal for several hours.

Idea:  Go to the store and check out the greeting cards.
Is there a card there that has a special meaning for you?
Or is there a card of encouragement that you wish someone would send to you?
Buy it for yourself, cut it up, and glue it into your art journal.
